Welcome to Cursor Spotlight, an app developed and managed by Bohdan Bilous ("I", "me", "my"). I am committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how I collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the Cursor Spotlight app. Please read this document carefully to understand my practices.
1. Information I Collect
- Personal Information: The app does not collect personal information such as your name, email address, or phone number.
- Usage Data: I do not collect analytics, device information, or usage logs.
- Third-party Integrations: The app does not integrate with third-party services for data collection.
2. How I Use Your Information
Cursor Spotlight processes pointer information and, when keystroke display is enabled, keyboard events to provide its visual features. Its existing privacy model does not transmit that input to the developer. Any app settings (for example: visibility mode, halo size, halo shape, colors, and click animation selection) are stored locally on your Mac using Apple’s UserDefaults framework.
3. Data Sharing
I do not share your personal data with any third parties, because no personal data is collected or stored.
4. Data Security
All app preferences and settings are stored locally on your device. Cursor Spotlight does not use external servers to store user data.
5. User Rights
- Delete Your Data: You can change preferences within the app. Removing the app may leave saved preferences on your Mac; contact support for help removing them.
- Correct Your Data: You can update your preferences at any time within the app.
6. Cookies and Tracking
Cursor Spotlight does not use cookies or tracking technologies inside the app.
7. Push Notifications
Cursor Spotlight does not send push notifications.
8. Third-party Links
The app does not include third-party links for data collection purposes.
9. System Permissions and Keystroke Display
Cursor Spotlight includes optional on-screen keystroke display. When you enable this feature, the app processes keyboard events to display the keys you press. Cursor highlighting, click effects, and spotlight dimming use pointer and display information to provide their visible effects.
macOS may request Input Monitoring and/or Accessibility access for input-related features, depending on the app version and enabled functionality. Review the permission request shown by macOS. You can manage or revoke access in System Settings > Privacy & Security; features that depend on it may stop working when access is revoked.
Keystroke display is optional. When it is enabled, displayed keys may be visible to people viewing your screen or a screen recording made with another app. Turn the display off before entering passwords or other sensitive information.
The previous statement that Cursor Spotlight never captures keystrokes does not apply to this optional display feature. The app’s published no-collection policy concerns data received by the developer; processing input to show it on your own screen is part of the feature.
10. Children’s Privacy
I do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If I become aware that I have inadvertently collected such data, I will delete it immediately.
11. App Store Compliance
- GDPR: App input is processed on your device under the no-transmission model described in this policy.
- CCPA: I do not sell personal data.
- COPPA: The app is not directed at children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect data from them.
